TREKBW 5††† MOREMI GAME RESERVE SAFARI( 2 Days / 1 Night )†† †2017

Often described as the most beautiful of all wildlife sanctuaries in Africa,

covering almost a third of the entire Okavango Delta , a diverse habitat where

the desert and delta meet , an area made up of floodplains, pans, lagoons,

channels, woodlands and forests.

In 1963, the wife of the late Batawana Chief, Moremi the third, developed the

Moremi Game Reserve in his honour, this was the first wildlife reserve to be set

aside in Southern Africa voluntarily, by an African community on their own land.

In 1970, the Chief Moremiís royal hunting grounds, Chief's Island, was added with a

further area to the north east in 1991.

Day 1 :††† Maunto Moremi Game Reserve

The safari departs from the Sedia Riverside Hotel at 0730 hrs, or earlier, after breakfast, passing

through the village of Shorobe en route ,heading for South Gate where we enter the Moremi

Game Reserve which is part surrounded by the Okavango Delta and cited by many as

the most beautiful game reserve in Africa and rated as Africa's premier wildlife reserve.

The drive to South Gate normally takes two hours provided the drive has not been delayed by

game spotting on the way.

On arrival at South Gate, whilst the Professional Guide attends to the necessary paperwork required for

entry into the reserve, refreshments will be provided during this short break. The journey continues

through the Moremi Game Reserve, game spotting on the way, until our designated camping ground is

reached. The ground crew will erect camp, while we relax and stretch the legs, before enjoy a leisurely

lunch prepared by the bush chef, followed by a relaxation period during which the professional guide will

deliver a short briefing about the reserve and other information regarding the safari, before commencing at

around 1530 hrs an afternoon game drive into areas of interest which offer excellent game viewing.

Return to camp for pre-dinner refreshments, followed by dinner under a tented canvas gazebo

or under southern, Milky Way, star lit skies, after which, reflecting on the days activities and sightings in

the warm ambiance of the campfire, listening to the calls of the hyenas and lions before zipping up for

the night into our cosy tents

Day 2  Moremi Game Reserve

one for the early morning game drive, leaving camp at or just before sunrise for game viewing,

maybe spotting the big catsas they follow the herds of buffalo, groups of impala and other
